Nana Kogler, ‘Kinoregal’ (2012)
Replica of a cupboard in the cinematheque of Tangier, Morocco. Built after an interior picture by Sarah Keller published in Deutsche Guggenheim Magazin for Yto Barrada’s exhibition ‘Riffs’ in Berlin in 2011. Visit of the original object in the summer of 2013.
André Malraux, ‘le Musée imaginaire’ (The imaginary museum)
Le Musée imaginaire is an archive that Malraux began in 1947. His “museum without walls,” as he described it, was a montage of photographs of art from all around the globe and throughout history, stretching from Roman sculptures to Impressionist painting.
‘Box in a suitcase (Boîte-en-Valise) from or by Marcel Duchamp or Rrose Sélavy.’ (ca 1943) by Marcel Duchamp.
Boîte-en-valise is a portable museum including sixty-nine miniature versions and reproductions of the artist’s own work.
Gregor Schneider, ‘Die Familie Schneider’ (2004)
Die Familie Schneider took place in neighbouring, identical houses – 14 and 16 Walden Street, London. The houses were open by appointment only and visitors – always two at a time – collected the front door keys from a small office on the same street. One visitor entered 14 Walden Street alone, whilst the other entered the neighbouring house.
In each was an identical woman, perpetually washing the same dishes; in each was a child, or a child-like person – wrapped placidly within a plastic bag; and in each was a man in a shower, engaged in a stark and lonely act of masturbation. After a period of ten minutes, the visitors emerged, exchanged keys and entered the second house.
At no time was there ever more than one visitor in each house.
Ryan Gander, ‘Bauhaus revisited’ (2003)

‘Fabiola’ by Francis Alÿs.
‘Fabiola’ is an installation of over 300 painted copies and reproductions of fourth century Saint-Fabiola, collected by Francis Alÿs from flea markets and antique shops throughout Europe and America in the last 20 years. They are all based on a now lost original painting by french artist Jean-Jacques Henner made in the nineteenth century.

The artist presents a theme park composed of 1:4-scale replicas of selected sculptures from past Skulptur Projekte exhibitions – concrete and metal quotations of the original works. Every object is a precise reproduction of the original and is set in relation to the others.
The Window of the World is a theme park located in Shenzhen in the People’s Republic of China. It has about 130 reproductions of some of the most famous tourist attractions in the world squeezed into 48 hectares.

Nikki Koole, ‘Neukmannetjes’ (2005)
An application that generates a simplified version of the game of seduction..
It starts with two babies, one male, one female. Once adults, they wander around the screen until they bump into eachother. They then have intercourse, after which the male leaves and the woman gives birth. Her baby will grow up, and enter the game.. This is repeated until the screen is fully filled with inhabitants, when everything collapses and the process starts over.
