The video installation ‘Collective Notice’ (< click to see a video) contains portraits of 10 people who disappeared in their homelands because of their political activities. Nasan Tur commissioned street artists to draw portraits of these people who are still missing. In the installation visitors see the materialization of these portraits in a period of 9 hours.

‘Verloren und gefunden’ (‘Lost and found’) at Kunstraum Benjamin Richard Leipzig.
The exhibition is described as ‘a fragmented diary through search-posters for lost cats, dogs and other loved ones’. The room was filled with these posters that Christian S. has collected for years and complemented with reports of the correspondance that S. had with the posters’ authors.

‘To navigate, in a genuine way, in the unknown necessitates an attitude of daring, not one of recklessness (movements generated from the Magical Passes of Carlos Castaneda)’ (2009) by Joachim Koester
Through the choreography of drawings and bodily movements, Koester traces methods intended to access or express physical sensation beyond cognition. In an ambiguous dark space, a mime performs the exercises described by the infamous anthropologist Carlos Casteneda in his 1998 book Magical Passes. According to Casteneda, these were secret shamanic gestures meant to enhance one’s ability to navigate “the dark sea of awareness”.

A 5 minute excerpt from ‘As if to nothing’ (2008) by Andreas Templin
The video ‘as if to nothing’ is comprised of a selection of statistical data of the earth and its population. This data, created by various governmental and intergovernmental sources and displayed in a specific and subjective interdependency, is combined with the highly dramatic second move of Bruckner’s 7th symphony which is being looped for the screening. The video-installation is in fact a computer-programme which utilizes the internal clock of the computer to calculate the statistical algorithms, which are updated on a yearly basis.
