Sigurdur Gudmundsson
Sigurdur Gudmundsson, ‘Talking and silent floor’ (2000)
This sculpture is made of original wooden floor parts of Galerie Van Gelder that covered the floor when the gallery space was taken over from Art & Project in 1985. After its removal the artist used part of the floor for a sculpture in which the artist or anyone else could speak to an audience, as a kind of social minimalistic sculpture. In 2000 during the opening of his exhibition he inaugurated his sculpture by telling stories about his art and relatives.
Susan Hiller
Susan Hiller‘s installation ‘Channels’ at Matt’s Gallery, London (2013)
In ‘Channels’, Hiller uses audio accounts in many languages from people who believe they have experienced death as the raw materials for her new work. Vivid stories of those who believe they have died and returned to tell the tale constitute a remarkable contemporary archive, whether the accounts are regarded as metaphors, misperceptions, myths, delusions or truth.

Simon Faithfull, ‘Accident book’ (2009)
Accident Book is an intervention in eight Accident and Emergency wards across London and Cambridge. The book tells the story of 33 accidents that befell the writer over a period of 42 years.
From June 2009 onwards, people waiting for treatment, prognoses or friends, began to discover books lying amongst the copies of old magazines in these Accident and Emergency wards. The 500 copies of Accident Book distributed through these eight hospitals are each individually numbered and the finders of these books are encouraged to take them home but also to register them here.
