Miley Cyrus – Tongue Tied (dir. Quentin Jones)

John Lennon / Yoko Ono – Double Fantasy

doublefantasy

In 1980, Yoko Ono and John Lennon released the album Double Fantasy. The second track “Kiss Kiss Kiss” is written by Yoko, who said, “There is the sound of a woman coming to a climax on it, and she is crying out to be held, to be touched. It will be controversial, because people still feel it’s less natural to hear the sounds of a woman’s lovemaking than, say, the sound of a Concorde, killing the atmosphere and polluting nature.

Leyland Kirby – Sadly, The Future is No Longer What It Was

Leonard Cohen – The Future

Give me crack and anal sex
Take the only tree that’s left
and stuff it up the hole
in your culture
Give me back the Berlin wall
give me Stalin and St Paul
I’ve seen the future, brother:
it is murder.

Mark Kozelek – Song for My Father

desertshore

“My dad and I have had our rough patches. Growing up. I was popping pills and we had our share of scraps, but there are also nice memories — watching ‘Papillon’ on TV for the first time in our Ohio basement, and we caught a lot of catfish on the Little Kanawha River. My dad is also responsible for the most crucial turning point in my life. I was 10 years old, taking guitar lessons from a neighbor and it wasn’t going anywhere. My dad hunted down a real guitar teacher, a guy named Jim Smith, and the rest is history.”

John Cage – As Slow as Possible

Organ

Organ²/ASLSP (As SLow aS Possible) is a musical piece by John Cage and the subject of one of the longest-lasting musical performances yet undertaken. It was originally written in 1987 for organ and is adapted from the earlier work ASLSP 1985; a typical performance of the piano version lasts 20 to 70 minutes. In 1985, Cage opted to omit the detail of exactly how slowly the piece should be played.

The performance of the organ version at St. Burchardi church in Halberstadt, Germany, began in 2001 and is scheduled to have a duration of 639 years, ending in 2640.
