Dublin, December 2009

Got back from the Irish capital yesterday, here’s some pictures to give you an impression of the town/trip.

river

The water divides the city-centre into part 1 and part 2.

breakestra2

Got a chance to see the Breakestra live on the first day there, check out their music here. Not exactly traditional Irish music, but fun nevertheless.

market

An old market hall.

auto

An old, large scale flower pot.

legaleagle

Antique bars. Lots of them.

kebab

Yes, they have these there, too.

medieval

The medieval part of town. Really nice churches.

statue

With broken statues (not making the M.J.-joke. Trying not to…)

gaol

Kilmainham Gaol (Príosún Chill Mhaighneann). A former prison built in 1796
where many leaders of the Irish rebellions have been imprisoned and executed.

gaol2

Cross marking the place of execution of the leaders of the 1916 Rising.

Unfortunately, my camera broke down by the damp air, so, sorry.

umbrella

The damp air was because of the rain.

taste

A trip out of town. In the rain.

coast

The coastline.

More on the arts(cene) in Dublin later…
